Case Study:

This urban family residence literally subscribes to the notion that less is more when it comes to crafting the interiors. It’s a style grounded in simplicity following the motto “ a simple home design leads to ease of living.”

This philosophy underlies the whole aspect Arch & arts embraced for this project, and it’s what attracted the owners during the whole creative design process.

The task was to create an elegant yet comfortable abode that capitalizes on its bucolic surroundings; the Reception area and adjacent Bar room exemplify Arch & arts’ trademark in this venture.

The house is located in Ashrafieh, in the heart of Beirut city, so retaining unimpeded views was a high priority. The family room and kitchen are flanked by windows and tall doors; solar shades can be tucked away and draperies frame the window and door openings.

To delineate the reception and bar area, we opted for a warm atmosphere & walnut colors. The bar opens to a succinct area where a modern countertop is artfully paired with common stools. The whole reception & bar area was designed in a way to that beautifully displays the decoration elements along the walls.

All of the furniture is bold & modern with extensive use of metal and wood combinations to create simple & modern soft lines.

Keeping things humble, without too much clutter, to allow the details to show was a must in all the interior areas. We used the same color metal for hardware, light fixtures, and drapery rods, and they are more noticeable because space is not cluttered.

Staying close to the main concept, the interior doors are painted a different color from the trim and walls, inducing different ways to add interest.

With tall ceilings, there are tricks to imparting more human scale to space, so we hanged sconces and low pendants to bring the eye further down.

In private areas we used use one flooring material throughout the rooms to keep things flowing and open up space.

The final result is an easy apartment with catchy lines & contented atmosphere for a comfortable life in Beirut.
